my ass. lets celebrate the dipshit, stubborn, pompus, heartless male who went around depleting the native population of america. whole lotta good he did us. someone was bound to "discover" this land sooner or later. i dont believe it would've made a difference if he was killed in his crib. the moron thought this was india for the love of god. bla bla bla, im sure there are mobs of historians who can argue for his usefulness, but in my personal opinion, we should just name this "get lost and dont ask for directions" day. you just might discover something useful!
